Actress Annette Bening has canceled her upcoming appearance at the Virginia Film Festival due to "unavoidable schedule conflicts."

Bening was slated to join actress Cherry Jones and director Rodrigo Garcia to present a sneak preview of their film, "Mother and Child," on Nov. 7 at the Paramount Theater in Charlottesville.

The Virginia Film Festival, which runs Nov. 5-8 at venues throughout Charlottesville, will feature more than 80 films and include appearances from actor Matthew Broderick, director Norman Jewison, writer/director Alan Ball and filmmaker, author and artist John Waters.

This year's theme is "Funny Business."

Tickets are currently on sale at http://www.vafilm.com, the University of Virginia Arts Box Office and (800) UVA-FEST.
