Local woman focuses on humor even though cancer took everything but her life

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Sandra Beard has been cancer free for nine years but when she was first diagnosed with breast cancer she did not have insurance. She and her husband lost everything and now live in an R.V. Her new book "Laugh When I Cry" focuses on humor in tough times.

Beard says, "I had no insurance but we had a little bit of money.. we had money from the sale of the house... we had some investments. But I don't if many people know how much chemo and radiation cost without insurance."

She and her husband had moved to Florida to start a business when her doctors found a lump the size of a baseball in her breast.
