SAINI SUNPURA, India (AP) - A baby girl born in India with a rare condition is being worshipped as a Hindu goddess.
The baby (Lali) was born last month with two faces. Except for her ears, all of the infant's facial features are duplicated: two noses, two sets of lips and four eyes.
Her father, a poor farm worker, says his daughter is just "fine -- like any other child." She is her parents' first child.
A hospital official says the baby girl child is able to drink milk from her two mouths and open and shut both sets of eyes at the same time.
The baby has caused a sensation in her north Indian village, about 25 miles east of New Delhi. Some villagers are hailing her birth as a return of the Hindu goddess of valor, who is traditionally depicted with three eyes and many arms.
Up to 100 people have been making daily visits to touch the baby's feet out of respect, offer money and receive blessings.
