A woman dies in a house fire.

Botetourt County Sheriff Ronnie Sprinkle says the victim is believed to be Melissa Rickman but a positive identification will be made by the Medical Examiner.

Firefighters found her body after putting out a fire at her home on Emerald Lake Drive just after six Sunday morning.

The Sheriff says Melissa's husband, Anthony Rickman, was in North Carolina. Their two children were staying with their grandparents.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
