Skeletal remains found near the railroad tracks in Evington early last year have been identified.

The body of Broderick Carlton Cox, 51, of Campbell County, was found along the railroad tracks that run parallel to Lawyers Road on March 16, 2007, deputies said.

Cox had been missing since June 2006. He had some health problems, and while deputies do not suspect foul play, they do not know exactly what killed the man.

Getting a positive identification took some time since the remains were so decomposed that investigators had to send DNA to the FBI for analysis.
