Beginning this spring, fall sports registrations that include football, soccer, cheerleading and 7- and 8-year-old basketball, can be done online at www.botetourt.org/recreation for six of the seven booster clubs in Botetourt County.

These clubs are Cloverdale, Fincastle, Greenfield, Eagle Rock, Buchanan and Troutville/Daleville.

Fall sports registrations begin May 1 and end on June 20.

“This is a big milestone for Botetourt County youth sports,” says Mark Moore, the Assistant Director of Botetourt County Parks and Recreation Department. “With the size of Botetourt County, it is important to bring this registration accessibility to the parents of the children that participate in our youth sports leagues.”

Online registrations were made possible by the department’s purchase of the web-based ActiveNet software in the fall of 2006 (https://activenet4.active.com/botetourtcopandr/).

Citizens without internet access can still register by completing an athletic registration form and returning it, along with payment, to the Parks and Recreation office in
Fincastle.
