Sofa store fire ruled arson

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Roanoke City fire investigators say a fire that burned a sofa store over the weekend is an arson case.

Investigators believe the flames sparked in a back storage room of the "Weekend Sofa Outlet" on Williamson road, just before 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 3rd. The Roanoke Fire Marshal's office does not believe anyone was inside the store when the fire started. The store is in the Williamson Road Plaza strip mall.

The fire caused some smoke damage to other businesses next to "Weekend Sofa Outlet."

Roanoke Fire-EMS, Roanoke City Police, and the ATF are investigating.

The ATF is offering a $5,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest and conviction.

If you have any information, call the Roanoke Fire-EMS Fire Marshal's Office at 540-853-2795 or the ATF at 540-983-6922.
