State Trooper involved in crash after chase

A state trooper is involved in an accident after a chase.

It happened in Henry County on Tuesday afternoon.

State Police say a trooper saw Kerry Lowe of Spencer, 36, speeding on his motorcycle on King's Mountain Road.

After a short pursuit, the trooper lost sight of Lowe when another trooper spotted Lowe 20 minutes later.

State Police say Lowe continued to drive away.

Police say when the trooper and Lowe came to a T-intersection, the trooper ran into Lowe before hitting a tree.

The trooper was not hurt, but Lowe was flown to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Police say Lowe will be charged with reckless driving and felony alluding police.
