ROANOKE - A federal violent crimes task force has arrested 10 Southside Virginia residents on weapons and narcotics charges.
Authorities said Wednesday that the 10 were indicted in U.S. District Court in Roanoke on federal charges ranging from distribution of more than 50 grams of crack cocaine to possessing a firearm during drug trafficking.
All are residents of Martinsville or Henry County.
The task force targets repeat offenders and narcotics traffickers. It spearheaded the investigation into a group that was distributing crack cocaine across southwest Virginia.
Martinsville and Henry County authorities assisted in the arrests, the last of which was made Wednesday morning.
