$200 up for grabs in Tour de Floyd poster design competition

The Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation is partnering with The Jacksonville Center for the Arts in Floyd to hold a Poster Design Competition for the 3rd Annual Tour de Floyd Bicycle Event. This year’s cycling event will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2009.

A $200 cash award will be presented to the person who submits the winning design for the 2009 event poster. The entry deadline for the poster design is 4:00pm, Friday, January 30, 2009.

The entry requirements for the poster design are as follows:
4 color image; images should be produced in 8 ½ x 14 format; all images should be available on request electronically and on a disk; minimum 300 dpi resolution; and available in hi-res TIFF or PDF version. Images should be delivered to The Jacksonville Center no later than 4:00pm, Friday, January 30, 2009, either in person, by mail to 220 Parkway Lane South, Suite 1, Floyd, VA 24091 or by email to info@jacksonvillecenter.org.

Entries will be displayed in The Jacksonville Center Breezeway Exhibit Space
space during the month of February. A judging panel will select the winning entry. Design elements should represent cycling, Floyd, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The presentation of the award will be February 15, 2009

All artists retain the copyright for their images. The winning artist conveys the rights for use of the image in all collateral products specific to the 2009 event i.e. poster, cards, and T-shirts and forfeits royalty payments for income derived from sale of merchandise by the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation.

The Center's winter hours through March are Monday to Tuesday, 10am to 1pm; Wednesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm; and and closed on Sunday. Winter hours will begin on January 4.
