Craig County fire update: Ice causing problems

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Icy conditions are causing problems for U.S. Forest Service crews and Craig County volunteer firefighters trying to contain the "Little Cuba" fire.

The Forest Service says firefighters did not go back to the fire line today, because of the slick and dangerous road conditions.

Fire crews tell us Tuesday's back-burning, as well as today's rain helped control the fire. It's now 60% contained, and has burned more than 2,700 acres.

Crews hope to return Thursday to patrol the fire line, and mop-up hot spots.
