Volvo plant making some trucks without union workers

»  Comments | Post a Comment

The Volvo plant in Dublin is making trucks again, just not as many as they normally do per day, and without striking union workers.

In a memo released to Volvo employees and put on the company's labor negotiations website, Per Carlsson says about 300 people are working at the plant every day.

Volvo hopes to get up to finishing about 24 trucks per day with the non-union workforce within the next few weeks.

About 2,500 members of the United Auto Workers local 2069 are on strike.

The union hopes to head back to the negotiating table soon.
