Finding my Groove

»  Comments | Post a Comment

As I begin return to work after being off for maternity leave, all I have to say is 'WOW, what a week.'

With the benefit of retrospect, a few hours out of the house, and the wisdom of a good friend, I've come to realize I don't have to have everything figured out in a day.

I'm the kind of person that likes to have things organized, scheduled, and planned out, so imagine my difficulty in adjusting to this new life. I think that's something I have yet to truly recognize. Life is completely different now—in a wonderful way, but it’s still very different and new to me. Being a mom is undeniably the hardest thing I have ever done and I'm still learning.

I learn something new every day—about myself as well as my daughter—but then again, that's one of the things I enjoy most about it. It's like working in TV news. Every day is different, every story is different. You never stop learning. That’s why I love what I do. It's why I love this new chapter in life my husband and I have begun.

For now, I’ll continue to work at finding a balance in all the things I do. I'm trying to get back in the groove.
