SALEM, Va. (AP) - Roanoke College is looking to a panel of faculty, staff and students to help oversee its efforts to go green.
The college announced Friday that it has appointed more than 20 members to what it calls a Green Advisory Committee.
College President Michael Maxey wants the committee to audit the school's current environmental efforts and locate places where improvements can be made.
Maxey said the panel will make its decisions by weighing factors like overall impact and cost, and then make recommendations.
Roanoke's environmental concerns have extended to current construction projects, where energy-saving practices have been used while renovating freshman dormitories.
