A local woman is taken to the hospital after an early morning rescue on Smith Mountain Lake.
Search and rescue crews were called to the Bridgewater Marina around 1am.
Witnesses say a 43-year-old woman from Roanoke had gone for a late night swim and did not come back.
After crews searched all night, a fisherman spotted her floating in the lake around day-break this morning.
She was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The Department of Game and Inland Fisheries is investigating.
