VDOT makes safety improvements to a stretch of Route 220 in Roanoke that saw a tanker truck crash through a guardrail, go down a hill, and ended in a massive inferno.

Crews installed eight chevrons, which are yellow, square, signs with black arrows on them. They'll help alert drivers to the banked curves on the stretch of Route 220 between Wonju Street and Elm Avenue.

The fiery tanker crash happened around 10:00 p.m. on the night on July 12th.
