A 10's Most Wanted update to the search for a fugitive, who State Police say may try to befriend you at church in order to get to your children.

Troopers say the Henderson County, North Carolina Sheriff's Office has received information that a convicted sex offender from North Carolina may be moving through Southwest Virginia.

Henderson Co., NC Detective Patricia Redden says she's gotten tips that Albert Charles Burgess Jr. may be in the Altavista/Lynchburg area, or the Highland County/Staunton area. Back on May 21st, the U.S. Marshal's Service told WSLS that Burgess had been seen in the Roanoke area.

Burgess is wanted for failure to appear on felony charges of 3rd degree sexual exploitation of a child, and failure to change his address as required by North Carolina law. Officers say the main charge is related to child pornography. Marshals say Burgess has been known to enter church congregations, where he befriends families in order to gain access to their children.

Investigators say Burgess also goes by the aliases: Dahl Bumgardner, Albert Burgess, Albert C. Burgess.

Burgess is 58-years-old, stands 6 ft. 3 in. tall, weighs around 252 lbs., has blue eyes and brown hair. Investigators also say Burgess has scars on his abdomen and knee.

Detectives believe Burgess drives a 1994 blueish gray, 4-door Oldsmobile Cutless Ciera. The car has North Carolina tag of WNZ-4859.

If you've seen Burgess, call Police.
