10's Most Wanted: Chad O'Neil Hairston

U.S. Marshals are looking for a fugitive wanted for creating and cashing counterfeit payroll checks.

A man wanted for writing authentic looking fake checks is the topic of this week's Ten's Most Wanted.

Police tell WSLS-10 that Chad O'Neil Hairston has outstanding warrants in Roanoke and is being investigated in other localities, including Botetourt County and Danville.

Hairston creates realistic looking payroll checks and cashes them at convenience stores and other mom and pop shops, police said.

Some of the checks are for more than 2-thousand dollars.

U.S. Marshals also have a warrant for his arrest in Franklin County, on drug related charges.

Marshals believe he is spending time in or near Axton in Pittsylvania County.
