Mother's Day celebrated, mail cards early!

»  Comments | Post a Comment

I've been thinking about Mother's Day all week if no for no other reason than to remember to go card shopping and get them in the mail. A couple years ago I mailed my mother a card. When I called her on Mother's Day, she said she never received it.

It was returned to me in the mail about two weeks later saying I did not have enough postage. I thought one stamp was enough on a normal sized envelope. I I went to the post office to ask how much it would cost to send and the clerk told me all it needed was a first class stamp. I flipped it over to show him that's what it had, along with any ugly ink stamp now saying there wasn't enough.

There was nothing he could do, the damage was done. My mother thought I had forgotten and still reminds me of it to this day.

I sent her card this year. I hope it got there on time, postage paid!
