RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginians looking to start a business now have a one-stop Web site to help them through the process.
Governor Tim Kaine on Tuesday announced the launch of the state's online business formation portal called Business One Stop. The site helps streamline the process to start a business in Virginia by finding and filling out the necessary forms.
Kaine says the site speeds transactions and helps eliminate duplication of data.
The system, for instance, collects user information and provides and pre-fills forms required by 80 percent of new businesses.
The site is not designed for businesses created outside of Virginia seeking to initiate new operations within the state, nor nonprofit organizations and charities.
