Investigators reveal more about a local county's first murder case this year in a search warrant on file in Campbell County Circuit Court.
A friend and a family member found Wilbur West, 69, of Lynch Station dead inside his home last Sunday.
According to our media partner, the Lynchburg News Advance, a search warrant executed on West's home that very same day claims investigators believe West was shot in the head, found laying on his back, and it appeared someone went through his pants pockets.
Campbell County sheriff's office investigations division captain L.T. Guthrie did not return several phone calls Tuesday seeking comment on the investigation and the contents of the search warrant.
Family members said the visitation for West will begin Thursday at 10 AM at Lynch Station Baptist Church, where West was the church treasurer, member of the men's choir, and sound board operator every Sunday.
West's funeral and burial will follow immediately after the visitation service, according to family members.
