More Snow For Some

More Snow For Some

Snow showers will impact the mountains Thursday night into Friday.

We will have another bout of winter weather across portions of the area Thursday night into Friday. Here is the thinking right now: areas along and near the West Virginia border will likely see 1-2", with those higher totals possible in the higher elevations of the New River Valley. Along the 1-81 corridor, we are looking at snow accumulations around an inch, especially towards Blacksburg and Wytheville, with perhaps lesser totals north of Roanoke towards Lexington. Lynchburg and Southside will likely only see a few flurries, while the Roanoke Valley may get a small coating of snow in some areas. Be careful out there, especially on the bridges and overpasses.
