Crews spent Tuesday morning putting up the new lighting system at Martinsville High School's football stadium in time for the team's final two home games. The old lights came down in August admidst safety concerns.
Martinsville High School maintenance coordinator, Jerry Epling, says the football fans he has talked to cannot wait to see home games under the lights again.
"They're (the fans) anxious to have Friday night games back here in Martinsville again."
The team played their first two home games on Saturday afternoons. "We have had good turnouts on Saturday afternoon, but it's just not the same as Friday night games so everybody's looking forward to it."
The first game scheduled under the new lights is set for October 31.
