The U.S. Forestry Service says a wildfire is burning in Craig County, on the Appalachian Trial in Jefferson National Forest.

The Forestry Service tells us the flames have scorched ten acres on both side of the Appalachian Trail, about 12 miles northeast of Blacksburg.

According to a news release, Forest Service law enforcement officers have closed the Appalachian Trail between Route 42 and Route 621.

Firefighters with the Forest Service are battling the flames. Additional firefighters from Virgina and Flatwoods Job Corp Center are going to help.

The Forest Service says no home are in danger currently, and it does not know what sparked the fire.
