A Charlotte couple accused of stuffing a dead mother in a plastic bag was picked up at a rest stop off Interstate 77 in Bland County.
Charlotte area police say Leslie Morales, 21, and her boyfriend Daniel Pataki, 22, murdered Morales's mother, Alexandria Salem, in a motel room sometime in the early morning of September 9th.
A nearby business owner found Salem's body in a plastic bag near a dumpster later that morning.
Salem 46 years old.
Charlotte police alerted other law enforcement in several states the Morales and Pataki might be on the run in red Chevy Colbalt with North Carolina tags.
A Bland County sheriff's deputy spotted the car at a rest stop off Interstate 77 earlier today.
The sheriff's office along with Virginia State Police took both into custody.
An email from a Charlotte police spokesperson read the department will send detectives to interview Morales and Pataki while they are in custody in Bland.
