ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - The U.S. Embassy in Pakistan is confirming the death of two Pentagon employees in the truck bombing of the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad.
They were among at least 53 who died in the blast.
A third American who works as a contractor for the State Department is still unaccounted for.
The Czech ambassador to Pakistan was one of those killed.
More than 250 people are wounded.
No group has claimed responsibility, though suspicion is falling on al-Qaida and the Pakistani Taliban.
The targeting of the American hotel chain comes at a time of growing anger in the Muslim nation over a wave of cross-border strikes on militant bases in Pakistan by U.S. forces in Afghanistan.
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani says the bomber attacked the hotel only after tight security prevented him from reaching Parliament or the prime minister's office.
Gilani says the bombing was intended "to destabilize democracy" and destroy Pakistan economically.
