City Market vendors say livelihoods at risk

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Market vendors say each day the market is closed puts their livelihoods at risk.
Food vendors say they are losing between 650 to 1,000 dollars a day.
City Manager Darlene Burcham says, as the landlord, the city is willing to make adjustments in the vendors rents.
Even businesses at the market that remain open are losing money...
A salesperson at "Gone Coco Boutique" says less foot traffic means she's ringing up fewer sales.
"Huge decrease in sales, just in everything, atmosphere, it's dead.", says Suzi from Gone Coco Boutique.
October rent is due on the first -- but Burcham says the city is also willing to give vendors a longer period of time to pay it.
