More than 120 William Byrd Middle School students have been hard at work collecting juice boxes for the Juice Drive. Students collected more than 1,300 juice boxes in the past month. All of the juice will benefit the Southwestern Virginia Second Harvest Food Bank's children's programs.
Consumer Science teacher Sandra Stalnaker created a competition with her students, to see which grade level could collect the most juice boxes. She says her students were very competitive in trying to get more donations than the other grades. Her sixth grade class collected the most juice boxes, and received a visit from Miss Central Virginia, Madison VanDauyne to congratulate the students.
Other Roanoke County Schools will be collecting juice boxes the rest of the month. You can also donate juice boxes at your local Kroger store.
