"The Happy Golfer" swings into our area

When he hit the first tee at the Pete Dye River Course of Virginia Tech, his journey was already over a month long. Nick Karnazes will be playing a total of 96 rounds of golf in 96 days in 48 states. Along the way, he will celebrate his 73rd birthday. As he played the course in Radford today, he said it was one of the nicest weather days he had seen.
His golf tour is set to end June 25th. He will play two courses in each of the 48 states on the trip.
Nick is not the only adventurer in his family, his son Dean ran 50 marathons in 50 days in 50 states.
