2 indicted in Troutville Rescue Squad embezzlement

The former president and treasurer of the Troutville Rescue Squad face charges in connection with money stolen from the organization.

According to the Botetourt County Commonwealth's Attorney's Office, a grand jury indicted Elizabeth Falls and Stacey Tanaka on Monday, in connection with embezzling tens of thousands of dollars from the rescue squad.

Falls used to be the squad's treasurer. Prosecutors charged Falls with four counts of embezzlement. Investigators believe Falls stole money over a four-year period.

Tanaka is the former president of the squad. He faces two cahrges of embezzlement. Investigators believe Tanaka stole money over a two-year period.

The prosecution says the cases are not related.
