A man and two-year-old girl escape from house fire

»  Comments | Post a Comment

The Hillsville Volunteer Fire Department was called to a house fire on Oxford Lane in Woodlawn Thursday afternoon.

David Young with the Department says a man was in the kitchen while a two-year-old girl was sleeping in a back bedroom. He smelled smoke, opened the front door and says that's when the fire rolled in.

He ran to the back, grabbed the toddler, and ran out of the house.

There is no word on how the fire started.
