The first Boston fire ladder truck inspected following a deadly crash last week had a problem with its brake system and was taken out of service.
It should be fixed by Tuesday night. The only other truck examined Monday passed.
Officials ordered inspections of brake systems on all city fire trucks after a ladder truck careened down a steep hill Friday and crashed into an apartment building.
The crash killed one firefighter.
The truck pulled out of service Monday is the same type and make as the truck involved in Friday's crash. The firefighter's union blames the crash on the department's failure to replace aging trucks.
Two other Boston fire trucks have been involved in crashes since the start of the year.
