The Ohio man who came to be known as "Joe the plumber" during the 2008 presidential campaign, is in Israel to report on the Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip.
His real name is Samuel Wurzelbacher. He met with the Mayor of the town of Ashkelon, who presented Wurzelbacher with a model rocket similar in shape to the ones fired by Hamas into southern Israel.
"Joe the plumber" then had the chance to meet the Israeli plumber who crafted the model rocket out of drain pipes.
"Joe the plumber" is in Israel as a war correspondent for conservative website, PJTV. When asked why PJTV asked him to cover the war, Wurzelbacher said it was because he is a, quote, "Expert on media bias."
"President Obama has already spoken about what he would do here. He said that if his daughters were living here, he would take whatever means necessary to protect his daughters. So I just hope he carries through
with it, but that is going to be up to him."
