»  Comments | Post a Comment

As the temperature continues to get lower, the lines at local homeless shelters are getting longer.

In the first hour it was open Wednesday, the RAM House day shelter say about 70 people. There's usually around 30 in that time.

Many leave the RAM House at 4p.m. and head to the Rescue Mission. The Rescue Mission has seen around 370 men, women and children each night. There are only 385 beds.

"In an extreme environment like we're going to have the next few days, we will have folks sleeping on the floor each and every night.", says Lee Clark.

Rescue Mission numbers are up 20 percent from a year ago.
