Our Lady of the Valley residents watch inauguration

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Many people in the United States thought they may never see an African American be elected as President. Perhaps no one more than those who lived during a time when our country was segregated.

WSLS spent the day at Our Lady of the Valley Retirement home Tuesday afternoon, with some residents who witnessed history as Barack Obama was sworn in as the nation’s 44th President.

There was a lot of excitement in the room of about a dozen people as many realized just how historic this inauguration was.
