"Reckless" low-flying plane at Smith Mountain Lake sparks investigation

»  Comments | Post a Comment

State Police are investigating a low-flying plane spotted over Smith Mountain Lake on Saturday.

Karl Martin with the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries says a conservation police officer witnessed the plane flying "reckless" near the Water's Edge golf course. That's near the Franklin County and Pittsylvania County line.

The pilot of the single-engine plane dropped low twice, according to Martin.

The officer was able to take pictures. The VDGIF has since turned the pictures over to State Police.
