The economic downturn causes more job cuts in the Roanoke area.
HSN says it has eliminated 15 hourly workers at its facility in Roanoke. The company says that is less than 4% of HSN's total employees in Virginia.
Below is a statement from HSN abou the layoffs:
The realities of the current economic environment require that we remain vigilant in assessing the size and structure of all components of our business to insure that all of our resources are being maximized. At our Roanoke facility we determined there was a need to right-size our fulfillment center team and unfortunately, that has resulted in today’s action to eliminate approximately 15 hourly positions, reflecting less than 4% of the overall employee base in Virginia.
