Danville Police charge a man with animal cruelty he allegedly committed while on a ride along with an officer. Police say 22-year-old Evan Schuler had been approved for a two week ride along program. He was with an officer as they stopped to get gas at the Monument Street facility. Police say Schuler jumped from the car, and kicked a opossum several times, killing it. Schuler told police opossums routinely kill his chickens and the behavior was "instinctive."
