Pulaski working to re-build historic train station

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Re-building one memory at a time...that's how the town of Pulaski hopes to re-build the historic train station and is calling on the community to do it.

Today, a historic preservation specialist met with community members to get an idea of how the depot was before the fire and what they loved most about it.

She'll use that information to help architects render drawings for the new building.

"It can be either a cold, cold, old building or it can be this warm building and that's what it was to us," said Museum Director Betty Kirkner, one of the community members who attended the meeting.

The town of Pulaski has also hired a disaster recovery coordinator who will be responsible for cataloging the artifacts that were saved from the fire and determining what was lost.
