A Rustburg Middle School teacher has been arrested and charged with taking indecent liberties with a child under the age of 15, authorities said this morning.
Matthew Judd Collins, 26, of Lynchburg, was arrested this morning and is being held in the Campbell County Adult Detention Center, said Capt. L.T. Guthrie of the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office.
Collins is a fifth- and sixth-grade physical education teacher at the school, Guthrie said. The incident is alleged to have happened between Jan. 1 and March 13, he said.
He declined to say if the child is a student at the school.
