Bassett Furniture says in a news release that it plans to cut 50 additional jobs this year, as part of a plan to help the company save between seven and eight million dollars.
The company termed the move a "further expense reduction" in the news release.
The release does not name a specific location for the cuts. It only states that the cuts will be in "departments throughout the Company... including corporate retail, administration, customer service, manufacturing, and marketing, reulting in an approximate 6% reduction in payroll."
