Economic Stimulus to send $330 million to Virginia military installations

Senators Jim Webb and Mark R. Warner said the money includes $83 million for construction projects, and $245.5 million for restoration and sustainability projects.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The U.S. Department of Defense has released nearly $330 million in stimulus funds for infrastructure projects at military installations across Virginia.
U.S. Sens. Jim Webb and Mark R. Warner said Tuesday that the funding includes $83 million for construction projects and $245.5 million for restoration and sustainability projects.
The funding includes $60.2 million for 17 restoration projects at Langley Air Force Base. Another $55 million is allocated to repair and modernize medical facilities at Langley and Portsmouth Naval Medical Center.
The funding also includes $24.2 million for child care centers at Fort Eustis and Fort Belvoir.
