The Fire Marshal has determined combustibles on top of the stove caused the fire.
Investigators say the man who lives in the home had been working in the kitchen and left the home to go to the store.
Before he left, he apparently bumped the stove knob causing the back burner to turn on.

Roanoke County Fire and Rescue is investigating what sparked a fire at a home on Coachman Circle Tuesday evening.
Firefighters say they received a call about the fire around 5:30 p.m. According to a news release, firefighters found smoke coming from the eaves of the single story house when they arrived.
Crews from Hollins, Vinton, and Roanoke City helped put out the fire in about 30 minutes.
Firefighters say the flames caused significant fire, smoke, and heat damage to the home's first floor. The flames also spread to the attic, and burned through part of the home's roof.
A couple lives there, but was not inside at the time. The Red Cross is helping the couple.
