State Police say the tractor trailer was stolen from Pierce Co., GA and belonged to Eunice Trucking.
State Police say a trooper was working radar near mile marker 156 when the 2007 truck sped by.
When the trooper tried to pull the truck over the driver wouldn't stop.
Around mile marker 178 another trooper place spike strips on the road.
The truck driver couldn't avoid the spikes and lost control of the big rig, ran off the road, and down an embankment.
The driver ran from the truck, but was arrested.
State Police say Thomas Kenneth Bowen from Pierce, GA is charged with reckless driving by speed, felony eluding, and grand larceny.
The incident is still under investigation.

State Police say a driver of a stolen tractor-trailer led them on a chase, and ended with a crash on Interstate 81 Thursday evening.
Sgt. Bob Carpentieri tells WSLS that Troopers believe the truck was stolen from Georgia.
The chase ended off of Interstate 81 northbound in Rockbridge County, near mile marker 178. That's in-between the two Natural Bridge exits.
Sgt. Carpentieri says spike strips were used to stop the truck.
VDOT says the left lane of I-81 northbound, and the left shoulder are blocked as of 8:23 p.m.
