Heavy rain could create flash flooding, especially in areas that have already seen heavy rain.

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect from 9 a.m. Thursday through midnight for Alleghany, Bath, Bland, Carroll, Craig, Floyd, Giles, Grayson, Greenbrier, Montgomery, Patrick, Pocahontas, Pulaski, and Wythe Counties.

One to three inches of rain is possible, especially in any thunderstorms that form. Creeks and streams could run out of the banks and mudslides will also be possible.
