Gas prices are the highest they've been all year

Gas prices are the highest they've been all year.
In fact, compared to last year's holiday season the average price for a gallon of regular is up nearly 85 cents.
That's bad news for holiday shoppers, and bad news for an already fragile economy.
Prices have increased 17 days in a row, hitting a national average of nearly $2.70 a gallon on Friday.
If you're on the road this weekend, the national average is up to $2.70.
And in the Commonwealth, the average price for a gallon of gas is up to $2.59.
Finally, if you are sticking around our area, an average price for a gallon of regular is at $2.54.
Experts say it's less likely people will spend their way out of this recession, as drivers will have to spend more of their income at the pump.
