Police investigate Blacksburg robbery

Virginia Tech Police investigate a robbery of a female student in downtown Blacksburg early Saturday morning.

An early morning robbery of a Virginia Tech student has police on the lookout.
Police said it happened around 1:30 a.m. when a female was robbed in the 600 Block of Lee Street in Blacksburg.
The victim was walking by herself and after asking for directions from the male suspect, she was struck in the face.
Authorities said the suspect fled with the victim's wallet and cash heading towards Main Street. The victim was not seriously hurt.
Students were notified of the robbery through campus e-mail.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Virginia Tech Police at 231-6411.
