»  Comments | Post a Comment

A house in Lynchburg suffered heavy damage to its kitchen when a grease fire broke out at about 12:15 p.m. Sunday, according to the Lynchburg Fire Department.

The cause of the fire at 813 Centerdale St. was still under investigation early Sunday afternoon. Battalion Chief Ricky Bomar said several people were in the house at the time the blaze started, but all managed to escape. No one was injured, he said.

Firefighters had the flames under control within about 15 minutes. The one-story house suffered heavy damage to its kitchen and smoke and water damage to other rooms, Bomar said.
