Carroll Co. home damaged in fire

Early this morning Hillsville Fire Department responded to a house fire on Oak Grove Road in Carroll County.
Fire officials say, the fire started in the chimney and quickly spread to the adjacent walls in the second floor and attic area.
The family was able to get out safely.
The house had extensive damage from heavy smoke and fire in the attic.
