»  Comments | Post a Comment

Want a chance to win a tricked out retired police cruiser?

Churches United for Service, the Lynchburg Police Department and the Lynchburg Police Foundation are holding a community celebration on Thursday, Nov. 5, from 5 to 8 p.m.

The celebration includes games and live music in addition to another chance to surrender guns for an opportunity to win the cruiser.

The event’s purpose is to reduce gun violence in Lynchburg. Those who surrender a firearm as part of the program are granted amnesty, meaning they will not be prosecuted for illegally possessing the firearm or for the illegal nature of the weapon itself.

For more information about the gun surrender program, visit http://www.lynchburgpolice.org.
